Ultrasound has received increasing attention from chest physicians recently because the technology is cheap, easy to use, and portable. Its use in particular situations has not been deeply researched, however, nor the results widely dispersed. Here experienced practitioners help with that by reviewing the technology and methodology briefly, then focusing on applications in critical care, and thoracic and endoscopic contexts.
