This documentary history (first published in 1992) collects primary sources from European history from the 1300s to the fall of Napoleon in the early 1800s. Mickelson-Guaghan (Washtenaw Community College) has selected the documents to understandable to the average high school graduate. They largely revolve around the theme of the transition from the Church as the primary source of social order to the development of the modern nation-state and the social, religious, and political philosophies resulting from the transition.
