Paris: L'Academie Francaise, 1949. No additional printings. Elephant folio, loose prints laid into folder with flexible green cloth spine and brown stiff paper boards with green cloth corners. Title label pasted to front board. Unpaginated. French. 95 B/W heliogravures. An incomplete reading copy. Folder is dampstained and warped, and paper is stained and chipped. Several shallow scrapes to boards. Ties intended to tie the folder closed (one each at top and bottom edges, two at fore edge) are broken and much of the ribbon is lacking. Of the interior, the foreword has been most affected by water, but the plates are damp warped to top edge throughout. Other than several small stains, the pages are clean and only very lightly toned and edge-frayed, generally very good.
