As part of its review of existing National Ambient Air Quality Standards for ozone, the US Environmental Protection Agency asked the National Research Council to evaluate the scientific and technical bases of the Agency's approaches for estimating ozone-mortality reduction and associated benefits of health-based standards over time. The report looks at developing the standards and assessing the benefits generally, ambient ozone and related pollutants, contributions of relevant health studies to estimating reductions in premature mortality, the economic valuation of reducing mortality risk, and overall conclusions and recommendations. It is not indexed. Annotation ©2009 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
