The Army Historical Foundation, a nonprofit charitable organization, was founded in 1983 by Generals Lyman Lemnitzer, Bruce Palmer, and Orwin Talbott, with the support of Secretary of the Army John Marsh and Army Chief of Staff General Edward Meyer. The foundation's goal is to promote greater appreciation for the contributions that America's Army - Active, Reserve, and National Guard - has made to the nation in more than 230 years of service.
