Theories of Crime: A Reader
Excerpts from criminologists' writings on recent sociological, biological, and psychological theories of crime are collected in this reader for a course in criminology. Eighteen selections each cover a particular theory, and are written by the individuals who developed the theories or who have spent their careers testing and refining them. Each selection is preceded by an introduction to the theory, briefly outlining the theory's strengths and weaknesses, and followed by a set of discussion questions. The reader can be used as a supplement to any primary text. Renzetti is affiliated with St. Joseph's University. Annotation c. Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
