From the library of Rosamond (Fitch) Richardson [great-grandniece of John Sherman and great granddaughter of William T. Sherman]. Previously owned by a member of the Richardson family with what appears to be the name "O.S. Richardson" penciled along with the date "1899" to the FEP verso. Possibly the signature of Rosamond Richardson's uncle-in-law Oliver Sterling Richardson. The notation "Note John Sherman died October 1900" to the frontispiece recto. Good set. Each volume moderately shelfworn with edge and shelfwear, bumped and frayed corners, rubs to the leather on the spine and boards; the spine tips of Vol. II erose, moreso to the crown.
