In 2003, the National Research Council presented the National Aeronautics and Space Administration with a decadal science strategy survey, which helped the space agency plan and conduct research for the next ten years. This second such survey summarizes the current state of knowledge in space sciences, describes the most compelling challenges that have emerged, identifies the highest priority science targets for the next decade, and develops an integrated research strategy to reach those targets. Reports to the survey committee from its discipline panels are also included. Annotation ©2013 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
